Intentional and knowledge based crimes are considered specific intent crimes. Here is a (not exhaustive) list of specific intent crimes:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><a title=\"Murder\" href=\"http:\/\/www.miblaw.com\/lawschool\/murder\/\">Murder<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a title=\"Attempt\" href=\"http:\/\/www.miblaw.com\/lawschool\/attempt\/\">Attempt<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a title=\"Conspiracy\" href=\"http:\/\/www.miblaw.com\/lawschool\/conspiracy\/\">Conspiracy<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a title=\"Solicitation\" href=\"http:\/\/www.miblaw.com\/lawschool\/solicitation\/\">Solicitation<\/a> (under modern statutes)<\/li>\n<li>Larceny<\/li>\n<li>False Imprisonment<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Note: A specific intent crime cannot merge.<\/p>\n<p>General intent crimes typically include crimes that are based on the defendant being reckless or negligence.
